What to Expect at Your First Visit
If this is your first visit to our clinic, it is helpful to arrive about ten minutes early to fill out forms. We also recommend that you have something small to eat before coming in, and avoid drinking alcohol immediately before or after your visit.

We will begin by asking you some questions about your present condition. Following that, we will ask you about your health history so that we can have a better picture of your overall health. We will also ask to check your pulse and look at your tongue. According to Chinese Medicine, these are important indicators of a person's health. Dr. Liang will analyze your case by drawing on her experience in both Chinese and Western medical practices. The goal is to find the root cause of the disease, rather than just treating the symptoms.

After we have discussed your health history, we will develop a diagnosis and treatment plan. Then you will receive your acupuncture treatment. All of the needles are sterilized and used only once to help prevent infection. The needles are very thin and are usually painless. You may feel a slight heavy or distending sensation. Generally, about ten needles are inserted, depending on your specific condition. After the needles are inserted, you can relax for about twenty minutes. Following that, we will take your needles out. Different people may experience different sensations after a treatment. Generally, patients report feeling calm and relaxed. The entire appointment usually lasts about one hour.
We highly recommend that patients take herbs to supplement their acupuncture treatments. We usually use powdered herbs because they are more convenient than cooking raw herbs (and taste slightly better), while allowing for the flexibility of making alterations to the formula to fit each patient's unique case. Usually, you will add the powder to a cup of boiling water to make a tea and drink it once a day. Powdered herbs cost $4 per serving, raw herbs cost $8 per package, and a small number of patent medicines are available for purchase as well.
Acupuncture with Dr. Liang is $150 plus the cost of herbs ($4 to $8 per day); $60 consultation fee will be waived on your first visit. We accept cash, check or credit cards. If you need to cancel your appointment, please let us know 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the appointment. Our office hours are,
