Lifang Liang

Meet Dr. Lifang Liang, O.M.D, Ph.D., L. Ac.

It was in my childhood when I decided I wanted to become a doctor. When I was nine years old, my mother died. I realized then how much struggle and hardship there was in life and I made up my mind to try to save people’s lives and help them lead long, happy, healthy lives.

I studied both Chinese medicine and Western medicine at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine for 12 years. I practiced as an OB/GYN doctor in China for 14 years, using Western medicine, performing surgeries and delivering babies, and practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine. I have more than 25 years of clinical experience in the fields of gynecology and male and female infertility.

In 1989, I came to the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio to do Western medical research on IVF with DNA and RNA assays. This was an exciting time in my life, where I gained much valuable knowledge and experience.

The following year, I relocated to San Francisco, where I accepted an offer to teach at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. For the last 13 years I have been teaching at ACTCM as well as successfully treating patients in a private practice at 450 Sutter, Medical Building. Additionally, I recently completed a Ph.D. in advanced research in the treatment of infertility with Chinese and Western medicines from the American Global University Program for Oriental Medical Research.

I am a member of RESOLVE, a national resource organization for those battling infertility. I work closely with Western infertility specialists and truly believe that using both medicines in conjunction, creates the best of both worlds, with greater benefits for the patients and higher success rates of IVF.

Dr. Liang specializes in Gynecology and male and female infertility. She integrates both Western and Chinese Medicines using Western laboratory diagnosis, acupuncture, and herbs to increase the quality of semen, ova, and the endometrium. With over 10 years of research in IVF in combination with acupuncture and herbal medicine, Dr. Liang has increased the success rate of pregnancy using IVF with excellent clinical results.

Dr. Liang has a thriving practice in San Francisco. Her office is located at 450 Sutter Street, Suite 1802, San Francisco, CA, 94108. Tel: (415) 834-1612
